When I get together with a group of people, the thing that connects us most is fear, not love.
Each of our life experiences has led us to develop differing perspectives and opinions about what love is. The love I feel for my family (storgé) is different from my friend who grew up with abusive parents. The romantic love (eros) I feel for my wife is different than a person whose partner cheated on them. The incomprehensible love God has for me (agape) would feel different if I heard it from a corrupt pastor.
None of us seem to agree on what love is.
Get together with a group that is willing to be open and honest with their fears, and you will immediately be able to identify with that person.
It’s said that humans are only born with two fears: falling and loud noises. That means all other fears are learned, and we all seem to be sharing the same teachers.
